P\u00e5 r\u00e5varumarknaderna tappade oljan medan metallpriserna fortsatte att stiga. Fr\u00e5n USA presenterades starka tillv\u00e4xtsiffror, samtidigt som den amerikanska centralbanken, Federal Reserve, som v\u00e4ntat s\u00e4nkte styrr\u00e4ntan med 25 punkter till intervallet 3,50\u20133,75 %. Fed kommunicerade \u00e4ven tv\u00e5 planerade r\u00e4ntes\u00e4nkningar under 2026 och \u00e5terupptog k\u00f6p av kortfristiga statspapper i syfte att tillf\u00f6ra ytterligare likviditet till det finansiella systemet. Runt \u00e5rsskiftet trappades \u00e5tg\u00e4rderna mot Venezuela upp, vilket kan ses som en markering fr\u00e5n USA om att den amerikanska kontinenten fortsatt \u00e4r av strategiskt intresse. Dessa h\u00e4ndelser har hittills inte gett upphov till n\u00e5gra st\u00f6rre marknadsreaktioner. F\u00f6rhandlingarna om ett m\u00f6jligt fredsavtal i Ukraina fortsatte under perioden, och USA och Europa enades om ytterligare st\u00f6dpaket. Den europeiska centralbanken l\u00e4mnade styrr\u00e4ntan of\u00f6r\u00e4ndrad, vilket \u00e4ven Riksbanken gjorde. Samtidigt fortsatte inflationen i Sverige att sjunka.
