Samtidigt n\u00e5dde guldpriset nya rekordniv\u00e5er, vilket \u00e4r anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rt i en milj\u00f6 med stigande b\u00f6rser. I USA skapade president Trump viss os\u00e4kerhet genom hot om tullar mot l\u00e4kemedelsbolag som inte tillverkar i landet, n\u00e5got som senare tonades ned. M\u00e5naden avslutades med en nedst\u00e4ngning av statsapparaten efter oenighet kring budgeten, men marknaden reagerade endast marginellt. I Sverige presenterade regeringen en expansiv h\u00f6stbudget med satsningar p\u00e5 hush\u00e5llen genom \u00f6kade utgifter och skattes\u00e4nkningar. Riksbanken s\u00e4nkte styrr\u00e4ntan med 25 punkter till 1,75 procent. Beslutet var inte enh\u00e4lligt, och signalerna tyder p\u00e5 att fler s\u00e4nkningar \u00e4r osannolika.
